Who we are
This website is operated by Putney Roofers (“we”, “us”, “our”), a roofing business serving Putney and the surrounding areas of south-west London. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
What information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us, and a small amount of anonymous technical information:
- Enquiry details: when you use our quote or callback forms we collect your name, phone number and, if you provide them, your email address, postcode and details about the work you need.
- Phone and email: if you call or email us we keep a record of the conversation so we can deal with your enquiry.
- Anonymous usage statistics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages are popular. It does not use cookies, does not track you across websites and does not collect personal information.
- Security information: our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes limited technical information (such as your IP address and browser characteristics) to check that submissions come from a real person.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry, arrange inspections and provide quotes.
- To carry out and manage roofing work you have asked us to do.
- To keep records required for accounting, insurance and legal purposes.
- To protect our website from spam and abuse.
We never sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Our legal basis
Under UK GDPR we process enquiry information because you have asked us to take steps before entering into a contract (such as giving you a quote), and to perform any contract we agree with you. We process security and analytics data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable website.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with service providers who help us run this website and our business, such as Cloudflare (website hosting, analytics, security and email delivery), and where the law requires us to. These providers act on our instructions and must keep your information secure.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for up to 12 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep the related records for up to 6 years after the job is completed, to meet tax and insurance requirements and to honour any guarantees.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask for it to be transferred to someone else. To make a request, contact us using the details below. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
